This course is suitable for initial and/or refresher training. It also assists in meeting WHS and safe work/work safe requirements Training and Assessment delivered under the auspices and in partnership arrangement on behalf of Health Security & Education Pty Ltd\, RTO 40907 \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Information about the course\n \n\n FWPCOT3301 Trim trees using a pole saw – This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to use a fuel or battery powered pole saw to trim tree branches within safe height and angle limits. The unit applies to individuals who operate pole saws to trim tree branches as part of arboriculture\, forestry\, agriculture\, conservation and land management\, local government\, emergency services and other government agency operations. All work must be carried out to comply with workplace procedures\, according to state/territory health and safety regulations\, legislation and standards that apply to the workplace. No licensing\, legislative\, regulatory\, or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Entry Requirements\n \n\n This course is suitable for persons currently employed in industry with a requirement to obtain a Statement of Attainment that covers basic chainsaw maintenance and trimming and cutting felled trees. Whilst students are not assumed to have any specific pre-existing knowledge in maintaining or operating a chainsaw\, students will typically have completed their workplace orientation and induction training and be familiar with foundation concepts relating to work health and safety including identifying hazards in the workplace\, using PPE and completing safe work method statements. Generally most students will have also operated a pole saw in the past. If an individual does not meet these requirements they may be deemed ineligible for short course delivery. While there are no pre-requisites for this course\, you will need to have sufficient English language skills to complete the competency-based training. You will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments which will entail starting a pole saw\, holding\, and cutting with a pole saw. All participants must be aged 16 years or above on the day of the course. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Duration\n \n\n Our Operate a Polesaw course is a one-day course.
