South Australia – Chemical Accreditation

South Australia – Chemical Accreditation

In South Australia, you need to have a licence to spray chemicals on land you do not own for a fee. Moreover, under the Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011, anyone who uses hazardous chemicals must have the relevant training. See below for more information:

Pest Management Technician Licence

In South Australia, SA Health administers Controlled Substances (Pesticides) Regulations 2003 and the Controlled Substances Act 1984. Accordingly, individuals who spray weeds for a fee must hold a Pest Management Technician’s Licence (endorsed for ‘Control of Weeds’). You must also get a licence to own a spray application business.

OUR CHEMICAL COURSE COVERS THE THREE UNITS REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR A PEST MANAGEMENT TECHNICIAN LICENCE (CONTROL OF WEEDS) AND A BUSINESS LICENCE IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA

OUR CHEMICAL COURSE ALSO COVERS THE TWO UNITS REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR A LIMITED PEST MANAGEMENT TECHNICIAN LICENCE (CONTROL OF WEEDS & PESTS, VITICULTURE, VERTIBRATES)

Schedule 7 Dangerous Poisons and Group I Herbicides

In South Australia, the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) limits use of Group I herbicides to individuals who hold a current statement of attainment for the competency unit AHCCHM303 Prepare and Apply Chemicals. This unit, along with AHCCHM304 Transport and Store Chemicals, is also required to purchase and apply Schedule 7 Dangerous Poisons. Our course covers both units.
